Love the computer, abhorrence the OS. Windows 7 is OK in general, admitting Microsoft’s absurd blame about with the anatomy of “My Documents,” but the “Starter Edition” is an abomination. Seriously? An OS that prevents me from ambience a desktop wallpaper? One that will not let me affix an alien adviser at the aforementioned time as the congenital screen? This OS is a *huge* footfall backwards from the Windows XP Home that came on my antecedent Acer netbook, and Microsoft wants $80 to advancement it to one after these awful and arbitary limitations.
Ubuntu Netbook Remix, actuality I come. This “Starter Edition” may be abundant to hunt me off Windows for good. Thanks for allegorical the bearings for me, Microsoft!
Aside from the OS woes, the computer itself is great. The keyboard is a concrete advancement from the antecedent revs of Aspire One, and the new multi-touch clue pad is arduous genius. The awning is brighter and crisper too. I like the faster CPU and best array activity compared to my now-dead Aspire One ZG5, and the wireless-N on the new computer rocks. The ZG5 had some awe-inspiring botheration that fabricated the wifi affiliation absolutely unreliable, but this one is abiding and speedy.
5 stars for the hardware, but 1 brilliant for the OS. What on Earth was Microsoft thinking?
